The tropical marine ecosystem in tropical areas holds an incredible biodiversity. Coral reefs, mangrove forests, seagrass meadows, and other marine organisms serve as habitats for various species of fish, invertebrates, and macroalgae. However, these ecosystems face serious challenges such as climate change, marine pollution, overfishing, and habitat destruction, resulting in population decline and ecosystem degradation.

The Summer Course 2023 "Marine Tropical Ecology" aims to protect the tropical marine ecosystem by providing a deep understanding of tropical marine ecology and efforts to rehabilitate coastal ecosystems on small islands. This Summer Course involves student participants and instructors from both domestic and international backgrounds.

This activity encourages collaboration and knowledge exchange among course participants from different countries, with the hope of enhancing global understanding and cooperation in preserving this valuable tropical marine ecosystem's sustainability.
